Carlton Hotel is a luxury 4-star Hotel with a broad clientele base including business clients and Park-Sleep-Fly travellers. We are conveniently located next to the Airport and just five minutes from the M1 and M50.

We are recruiting for a Reservations Executive.

The Reservations Office at the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport is one of the main liaison points between guests/clients and the Hotel, as well as working closely with other Hotel departments. You will be dealing with high volumes of reservations and reservations-related enquiries, such as for bedroom and meeting room bookings. The Reservations operation has a significant bearing on our guests'/clients’ impression of the Hotel, so all enquiries must always be dealt with in a friendly but professional, comprehensive and efficient manner.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Reservations Executive to join our busy Reservations Team. You will be genuinely caring and have very strong organisational and interpersonal skills, key to this important customer-facing/interfacing role. You will be hard-working, have a great attitude, and delight in providing excellent customer service.

Specific responsibilities in this role include:

  • Being fully familiar with our products and services (rooms, outlets, packages, special offers, corporate rates), local amenities, events taking place locally, etc.
  • Dealing with inbound reservation enquiries in a friendly but professional, timely, comprehensive, and efficient manner, including taking, recording/processing, and cancelling reservations
  • To assist with the maximisation of room and other revenue, occupancy percentage, and RevPAR, through efficient and effective sales/upselling activities, in conjunction with the Reservations Manager/wider Reservations Team
  • To ensure all guest requests and other relevant information is communicated to all relevant Departments in a clear and timely manner
  • To build relationships with guests/clients
  • To ensure all charges are properly communicated and processed
  • Dealing efficiently and politely with guest/client feedback
  • Ideally, bringing forward initiatives and innovations for consideration
  • Ensuring that you maintain the highest possible standard of personal hygiene, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct at all times
  • Adhering to our health & safety training, policies, and procedures
  • Engaging in planning activities as required

Successful applicants must:

  • Ideally, have at least two years of previous, relevant Reservations experience within the Hotel / hospitality sector
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, as training will be provided
  • Have a calm, efficient, professional and organised approach to your work
  • Have excellent presentation, motivation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the highest level of attention to detail
  • Be business-minded, always seeking opportunities to maximise sales
  • Be able to work hands-on, as part of a Team or on your own initiative
  • Be fully computer literate (incl. MS Office)
  • Possess excellent written and spoken English for this key customer-facing/interfacing role
  • Ideally, have good working knowledge of reservations software (knowledge of MEWS and Event Temple would be a distinct advantage but full training will be provided)
  • Be flexible as regards shift work patterns (our operation covers Monday to Saturday)
  • Have a good standard of health / level of fitness, and be capable of, and comfortable with, physical activity
