GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Houseperson plays a crucial role in supporting the housekeeping team by ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of all areas within the hotel. This position involves assisting with the daily housekeeping operations, including maintaining public spaces, guest rooms, and managing linen services. By helping to create a welcoming and pristine environment, the Houseperson contributes significantly to positive guest experiences. The role also includes providing support to housekeeping staff and offering exceptional customer service as needed, ensuring that the hotel’s common areas remain inviting and well-maintained.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Education and Experience

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred but not always required.

Preferred:

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Familiarity with Marriott GXP
  • Capability to communicate in both English and French
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for guest satisfaction

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk and lift for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require physical exertion (e.g., bending, lifting, and pushing carts).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • Clean and maintain public areas, including hallways, elevators, stairwells, restrooms, lobbies, pool, gym, parking garage and all meeting rooms.
  • Dust, mop, sweep and vacuum floors in common areas and guest rooms as required.
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners in public areas and guest rooms as required.
  • Respond to guest requests for extra amenities or supplies as needed.

Laundry and Linen:

  • Collect, sort, and distribute linens from guest rooms to the laundry area.
  • Ensure clean linens are stocked and available for housekeeping staff and guests.
  • Handle and transport dirty linens to the laundry room and ensure clean linens are delivered to designated areas.

Guest Service Support:

  • Assist guests by providing extra amenities, towels, or other items to improve their stay.
  • Report any maintenance issues (broken fixtures, tv’s, lighting etc.) to the appropriate departments for prompt resolution.
  • Support room attendants with room preparations and restocking of supplies.
  • Utilize GXP to handle guest issues/requests.

General Assistance:

  • Support room attendants in the cleaning of guest rooms, providing them with necessary tools and supplies.
  • Ensure proper storage of equipment and housekeeping materials in designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage rooms and workspaces.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow safety and security procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or hazards to the supervisor or management immediately.
  • Adhere to hotel policies, cleanliness standards, and local regulations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other housekeeping staff and hotel staff to ensure the hotel operates efficiently.
  • Assist with special projects or additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Practice the AC Brand elevation mantras in your daily delivery approach with guests and AC family members.
  • Actively participate in the daily affirmations stand-up meeting and apply the key takeaways in interactions with guests to enhance their experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.73 per hour
