Housing Case Manager (Bilingual)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Housing Case Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to clients experiencing housing instability, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and guidance to secure and maintain affordable housing. This role requires strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, along with expertise in housing policies, crisis intervention, and social work principles. The Housing Case Manager will work closely with landlords, property management teams, and community organizations to facilitate successful placements and ongoing support for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assess clients’ housing needs and develop individualized case plans
  • Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to clients facing urgent housing or personal issues
  • Assist clients with navigating landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations
  • Coordinate with property management using platforms such as Yardi and OneSite for tenant screening, rent payments, and property records
  • Negotiate lease agreements and resolve disputes between tenants and landlords
  • Support clients in Section 8 housing applications and other subsidized housing programs like LIHTC
  • Deliver addiction counseling or connect clients with appropriate services when necessary
  • Conduct motivational interviewing to promote client engagement and goal setting
  • Educate clients on their rights under Fair Housing laws and Section 8 regulations
  • Maintain detailed documentation of case progress, interactions, and service plans
  • Collaborate with social workers, community agencies, and service providers to ensure holistic support

Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in English & Spanish or Arabic required
  • Experience or knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and property management systems such as Yardi or OneSite preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills with landlords and property managers
  • Background in social work, crisis intervention, or addiction counseling highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations effectively
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented approach
  • Valid driver’s license preferred for client home visits or community outreach activities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
