Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting daily HR operations and ensuring a positive, compliant, and efficient workplace. This position oversees full-time and temporary staffing processes, including recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding, while maintaining compliance with employment laws and company policies. The HR Generalist manages timekeeping and payroll accuracy, partners with staffing agencies, and assists with employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
Additionally, this role supports safety programs, workers’ compensation, and regulatory compliance (FMLA, ADA, I-9, etc.), while maintaining accurate HR records and reports. The HR Generalist contributes to culture and engagement initiatives, performance management processes, and training and development programs.
Success in this role requires strong confidentiality, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and provide professional, people-focused support to employees and managers across the organization.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Staffing & Recruitment: Coordinate full-time (FT) and temporary staffing needs, orientations, manage approvals, track headcount, and oversee onboarding/offboarding processes. Track and analyze HR data, including turnover rates, time-to-fill positions, and temp usage trends, to provide insights and improve workforce planning.
Onboarding & Offboarding: Maintain and update onboarding documents in collaboration with legal. Conduct orientations and ensure compliance with company policies, cGMPs, and required training.
Time & Payroll Management: Monitor and verify FT and temp employee timekeeping, ensure accurate payroll submission, time & attendance auditing and reconcile agency invoices.
Agency & Compliance Coordination: Serve as the liaison between temp agencies, managers, and HR. Ensure compliance with I-9 and other employment regulations.
Safety & Legal Compliance: Support workers' compensation cases, garnishments, levies, and regulatory requirements. Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and company policies, including FMLA, ADA, I-9, and other employment regulations.
Employee Relations & Training: Assist with employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution. Provide HR guidance and train managers and employees on relevant processes. Maintain and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency in application and adherence to labor laws. Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and escalating issues as necessary. Support managers in resolving workplace conflicts through coaching, mediation, and facilitating open communication.
HR Administration: Maintain records for recruiting, onboarding, and retention. Support payroll processing, benefits administration, audits, and compliance initiatives.
General HR Support: Handle HR frontline duties, assist in front desk coverage as needed, and provide expertise to the HR Manager and management team. Generate reports on key HR metrics and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Culture & Employee Engagement: Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, morale, and workplace culture, including recognition programs and company events. Assist in conducting employee feedback surveys and developing action plans based on results.
Performance Management Support: Assist in the administration of performance review processes and provide support to managers in conducting effective employee evaluations.
Work with leadership to identify training and development needs, ensuring employees have resources to grow within their roles.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent, e.g. GED (some college preferred), Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong confidentiality, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn HRIS systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- The ability to remain calm, patient, and professional under pressure.
- Previous recruiting experience.
