Human Resources Intern - Student Position

Term: Summer 2025 (8 weeks)

Compensation: Paid Internship $18.50/hr plus 4% vacation pay and 4% In Lieu of Benefits

About the Opportunity:

Are you looking to get your foot in the door and learn what HR is really like behind the scenes? We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student to join our HR team this summer to help us do some real (and yes, sometimes unglamorous) work that keeps the HR department running smoothly.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating order out of chaos, is curious about how HR operates in a not-for-profit setting, and isn’t afraid of paperwork. You'll support a variety of tasks like organizing files, creating a tracking system, and helping us build a solid foundation for an orientation.

You won’t be Setting Strategies or redesigning compensation models (yet), but you will gain valuable experience, work closely with an experienced HR Director, and walk away with a deeper understanding of what HR Foundations are really all about.

What You’ll Be Doing:

· Organizing and digitizing employee records

· Supporting file audits and compliance reviews

· Help to organize and maintain HR databases to ensure completeness

· Assisting with onboarding documentation and reference checks

· Supporting summer recruitment efforts

· Participating in occasional HR projects and process improvements

· Tackling other tasks that help our small but mighty HR team

What you Bring:

· Enrolled in a post-secondary Human Resources, Business Administration or related program

· A keen eye for detail and a love of checklists, order and digitization

· Confidentiality is second nature to you

· Strong skills in Word and Excel (and you’re not afraid of a spread sheet!)

· Organized, adaptable, and willing to roll up your sleeves

· Positive energy and good communication skills

· A clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check before starting

Why Join Us?

Keystone is the lead agency for child and youth mental health in Grey and Bruce counties. You’ll get exposure to the HR work that supports frontline professionals doing meaningful work in the community – and you’ll gain a first-hand look at the essential, and behind-the-scenes, operational work that keeps HR moving.

EDI Vision and Mission

Every child and youth deserve equitable, culturally competent, safe, and accessible care. We are dedicated to breaking down barriers to equitable services. We actively engage with and learn from our community partners, reflecting the diversity of those we serve. Though ongoing learning and actin, we champion inclusive practices across everything we do.

How to Apply: Submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining why you’re interested in HR and what you hope to learn this summer to KeyHR@keystonebrucegrey.com.

Applications will be accepted until May 13, 2025 by 11:59 pm.
