In-House Legal Counsel

Core Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation

Provide corporate advisory support by offering legal guidance on transactions, employment matters, corporate governance, and both civil and criminal issues.

Manage or oversee litigation involving the company, including contractual, employment, and commercial disputes.

Collaborate with and coordinate external law firms when litigation matters are outsourced.

• Provide legal advice to management

Advise on legal risks in business decision.

Interpret laws, regulations, and court rulings relevant to the company.

• Draft and review legal documents

Draft and review a broad range of legal documents, including commercial contracts, settlement agreements, legal notices and demand letters, as well as various litigation-related materials.

• Dispute management

Assess potential disputes and recommend settlement or litigation strategies.

Conduct internal investigations where disputes arise.

• Regulatory and compliance oversight

Ensure company practices comply with Singapore laws.
Develop internal legal policies and procedures.

• Coordinate external counsel

Engage and instruct law firms for complex litigation.
Review legal bills and manage legal budgets.

• Corporate advisory work

Provide legal support for transactions, employment matters, and corporate governance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Qualified to practice law, having been called to the Bar in a recognized jurisdiction.
• Possesses a minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), with prior experience in a reputable law firm; in-house legal experience is an added advantage.
• Demonstrates mandatory experience in both civil and criminal matters.
• Has a strong corporate and commercial legal background, with experience in corporate work, litigation, or a combination of both—ideally including in-house experience within established organizations.
• Regional exposure is highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage.
• Exhibits strong communication skills and effective people management capabilities.
• Maintains a strong work ethic, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Acts as a role model and advocates for the Legal department through professionalism, attitude, and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law from a reputable institution.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $7,000.00 - $8,500.00 per month
