Infrastructure Project Manager

Position: Project Manager – Infrastructure & Security
Job Type: 12+ Months Contract
Location: Bay Area, CA
Rate: Competitive / hr. W2 or C2C

Role Synopsis:

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver large, complex IT infrastructure projects with a focus on security, directory services, and configuration management. The ideal candidate is PMP certified, brings a strategic mindset to IT governance, and demonstrates a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams in high-stakes environments. This role requires hands-on experience with security infrastructure and applications, strong knowledge of project delivery frameworks, and exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing NERC CIP compliance projects is highly desirable.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex infrastructure projects involving security and enterprise applications.
  • PMP certification (active).
  • Strong background managing directory services and configuration management initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of security-related infrastructure and applications, including compliance frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing IT governance, project methodologies, and operational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Highly analytical and methodical, with advanced problem-solving abilities in complex technical domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead infrastructure and security projects from initiation through execution, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.
  • Manage project plans, schedules, risks, budgets, and resource allocation across diverse project portfolios.
  • Collaborate with technical and functional teams to deliver directory services and configuration management projects on time and within scope.
  • Ensure project governance practices are adhered to, and establish repeatable, scalable processes for delivery excellence.
  • Provide regular updates and executive-level reporting on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Cultivate a team culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee compliance-related initiatives, including NERC CIP-related deliverables if applicable.

Desired Qualifications (Optional):

  • Experience managing NERC CIP compliance projects.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and audit frameworks in the energy or utility sectors.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, or hybrid delivery models.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $70.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
