A Day in the Life
The Process Development Engineer Intern will support the engineering team in designing, optimizing, and validating manufacturing and business processes within a dynamic medical device environment. This internship offers hands-on experience in Design for Reliability and Manufacturability, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Interns will gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies, methodologies, and Gemba activities, while developing skills in process design, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The role also provides valuable networking opportunities and mentorship from experienced engineers and highly skilled subject matter experts.
Internship details:
- Start date: March 2026
- Location: Tolochenaz
- Duration: 6 months
- Working hours: 40 hours per week
- Working model: on-site
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety
- Support process validation activities, including data collection, analysis, and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, production) to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues
- Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate process changes and their impact
- Document procedures, findings, and recommendations in technical reports
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma etc.)
Required Knowledge:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, Microtechnology, Biomedical) or related field
- Fluency in French and English, with strong verbal & written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Would be a plus:
- Familiarity with process mapping, statistical analysis, or engineering software
