What you do
Your responsibilities will include:
Sales Process Immersion: Participate in sales training alongside new hires and refresher briefings, gaining foundational knowledge of corporate banking sales skills.
Customer Interaction & Observation: Join experienced Business Development Managers (BDMs) on customer visits and calls, observing their interactions and learning best practices.
Process & Report Analysis: Review existing reports and processes, identifying opportunities to “Simplify,” “Eliminate,” and improve effectiveness.
Customer Feedback & Insights: Participate in or conduct interviews with existing clients post-campaigns, gathering valuable insights on their experiences and expectations.
Market Research & Evaluation: Evaluate loan broker engagements, assess application quality, and perform mystery shopping to measure service turnaround times.
Sustainability Support: Evaluate new customers for potential cross-sell opportunities related to sustainability initiatives (SMEEA, SLL, WEF).

The EmB Acquisition team within Emerging Business is dedicated to expanding our SME customer base and delivering exceptional service. You’ll work alongside experienced sales professionals, analysts, and marketing specialists in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Who you are
Open to learning and feedback
Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to analyze reports and offer insightful recommendations.
Strong interest in SME banking and business development.
Learning Objectives
This internship will provide you with:
A comprehensive understanding of SME banking customers and offerings through diverse projects.
The ability to analyze existing reports and processes, identifying opportunities for simplification and improvement.
Practical experience in gathering customer feedback and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
Exposure to sustainability initiatives and cross-selling opportunities within the SME sector.
