Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing high-quality construction and renovation work across a variety of residential and light commercial projects. We are seeking a dependable, motivated professional with strong technical skills and a wellrounded background in carpentry and general construction. This role requires attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, as this role involves direct interaction with clients while maintaining Turn Key’s high standards of professionalism and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled carpentry and general construction work across residential and light commercial projects.
  • Structural and interior framing, finishing carpentry (trim, doors, cabinets, millwork), and drywall installation.
  • Execute painting, tiling, and flooring installations (LVP, engineered, and hardwood).
  • Carry out basic electrical tasks such as light fixture installation.
  • Safely operate hand tools and power equipment while maintaining a clean and organized worksite.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety standards and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and project managers.
  • Maintain reliability through consistent attendance, punctuality, and a solution-focused approach on-site.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction
  • Ability to lift up to 12 kg regularly, 23 kg frequently, and up to 45 kg occasionally
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Own hand tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Red Seal Journeyman ticket (preferred)
  • Safety certifications or tickets are an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Details

  • This is a full-time, onsite role based in Calgary, AB.
