Starting Salary: $20 - $26/hour

The Opportunity:

The Labour Relations Intern supports the Director, HR in a unionized refinery environment by assisting with day-to-day labour relations activities. This role provides exposure to collective agreement administration, grievance processes, and labour-management interactions while ensuring strong organization, documentation, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for labour relations activities, including participating in collective bargaining activities.
  • Assist with maintaining organized and accurate case documentation and records.
  • Support preparation for meetings, investigations, and labour-management discussions.
  • Track timelines and key milestones related to labour matters.
  • Assist with reporting, data tracking, and analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of reference materials and internal documentation.
  • Support ongoing communication and follow-up related to labour relations initiatives.

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.

Requirements:

  • Available for a 4-month term beginning May 2026
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated interest in labour relations and unionized environments
