Job Summary:
The Land Contracts Manager will oversee and manage all legal aspects related to land acquisition, documentation, and compliance within the renewable energy sector. This role involves conducting comprehensive land legal due diligence, preparing and reviewing land contracts and sale agreements, and ensuring proper documentation for transmission line right-of-way and public land tenurial processes. The Land Contracts Manager will work closely with legal, regulatory, and project teams to mitigate risks and ensure all land-related transactions are executed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough land legal due diligence to identify and mitigate potential legal risks associated with land acquisitions.
- Draft, review, and manage land contracts, sale agreements, and other relevant documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Oversee the documentation process for transmission line right-of-way and public land tenurial processes, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to address any legal issues or disputes related to land transactions.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting land contracts and tenurial documentation.
- Provide legal advice and support to project teams during the land acquisition process and ensure timely resolution of legal matters.
- Facilitate negotiations and manage relationships with landowners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Bar Passer
- A minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a strong focus on land-related contracts and legal processes.
- Proven experience in managing land contracts within the renewable energy or power industry, including familiarity with industry-specific legal and regulatory frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of legal principles, contract law, and regulatory compliance related to land acquisition and management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess legal risks and provide strategic advice.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to support project and land acquisition activities.
