Dedicated solo practitioner specializing in immigration law is actively seeking a full-time, experienced paralegal to join our growing team. This mid-level position is ideal for candidates who have substantial experience in an immigration law firm setting and are passionate about serving the immigrant community.
Key Qualifications:
- Bilingual Proficiency: Must be fluent in both Spanish and English, with the ability to read, write, and speak in both languages seamlessly (you will be tested).
- Detail-Oriented: Given the critical nature of legal forms, a keen eye for detail is essential.
- Experience: At least 2-4 years of hands-on experience in an immigration law firm or at least a practicing law firm is a must.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certification is preferred but no required.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple cases, meet strict legal deadlines, and ensure that no detail is overlooked.
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse clients and provide exceptional service.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient computer skills to manage case files, conduct research, and communicate effectively.
- Reliability: Punctuality and dependability are crucial.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Commitment: A genuine commitment to advocating for and serving the immigrant community.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review immigration forms, court filings, and client declarations.
- Engage in regular communication with clients, court personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Translate Spanish documents into English, ensuring accuracy and preserving the original intent.
- Manage and monitor cases to ensure all deadlines are met without fail.
- Provide administrative support, including managing appointments, filing, and data entry.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support the firm's objectives.
