Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. Looking for someone for a minimum 3 days a week. The ideal candidate will support our team in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinical operations, and maintaining a welcoming environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about dental health and eager to grow within a professional setting. Prior experience with dental software such as Epic and Dentrix, as well as familiarity with orthodontics, pediatrics, and dental assisting procedures, is highly valued. Certification in CAD or related technical skills will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including exams, restorations, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Epic and Dentrix
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently, acting as a friendly front desk presence when needed
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and OSHA standards
- Support with administrative tasks including billing, insurance processing, and data entry for pediatrics or other specialties
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software Dentrix
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Experience in dental assisting with certification or training in CAD design is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient comfort and care excellence
