Maintenance Automation Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Automation & Maintenance intern will report directly to the Automation Engineer Supervisor. The Automation & Maintenance intern position is a learning role, to work with experienced automation engineers and learn how systems, programs, and hardware work in a high-volume manufacturing facility.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Work with the automation supervisor and/or automation engineers in a learning role.
  • Complete tasks as set out by the automation supervisor and assist the wider maintenance team when required.
  • Assist in the creation of standard operating procedures, training documents and guides.
  • Establish and develop knowledge of the Bio-pharmaceutical industry from a GMP perspective, understand the importance of GMP and how it relates to automation and maintenance.
  • Assist with the creation of PM plans for routine and non-routine tasks undertaken by the automation department, tasks such as equipment backups and disaster recovery.



PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential/Desirable/Knowledge & Skills


  • Computer literate and a good working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Basic electrical skills such as recognizing electrical hardware components and how they work and operate.
  • Qualifications
  • Currently studying for or achieved a relevant third level qualification(s) such as Bsc in Computer Science, BEng in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or BEng in Automation.
