About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Equipment Maintenance Planner to support the effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities across a fleet of approximately 50–80 items of mobile equipment. This role is pivotal in maximizing equipment availability, reliability, and safety through structured, well-executed maintenance planning.
Working closely with maintenance supervisors, trades, and operations, you will ensure maintenance work is planned, resourced, and executed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule all planned maintenance activities for 50–80 mobile assets
- Develop short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance plans aligned to operational requirements
- Build detailed work orders including job scopes, task sequences, labour hours, required parts, tooling, and support services
- Coordinate component change-outs, shutdown work, and statutory inspections
- Maintain and manage maintenance backlog and priority setting
- Monitor equipment history, performance, and maintenance KPIs
- Ensure CMMS data integrity and accurate maintenance reporting
- Liaise with maintenance, operations, and supply teams to optimise equipment availability
- Promote safe work practices and compliance with site safety and environmental standards
About You
- Trade-qualified or strong technical background (mechanical preferred)
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner within mining, heavy industry, or civil operations
- Demonstrated ability to manage planning requirements for a large mobile equipment fleet
- Strong understanding of mobile maintenance strategies and work management processes
- High level of competency using CMMS systems (SAP, Pronto, AMT, Maximo, or similar)
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience with large mobile equipment fleets (haul trucks, loaders, excavators, graders, support equipment)
- Site-based planning experience in a production environment
- Exposure to reliability or condition-based maintenance practices
