Maintenance Supervisor/Manager

Join a progressive citrus operation in Mildura, taking responsibility to ensure mechanical reliability for our farm and pack shed machinery.

We have a great opportunity for a full-time Maintenance Supervisor/Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, responsibilities will include regular servicing, repair and modification of plant and equipment that compromises our packing shed operation during peak and non-peak seasons. Other duties that will be required such as developing a maintenance schedule and making recommendations for efficiencies and improvement in operations, along with providing guidance to team members and contractors about correct use of the machinery. The role includes a focus on safety, along with also assisting with quality documentation and system requirements.

We prefer a qualified maintenance fitter, if possible (mechanical engineering etc) along with experience in steel fabrication, and knowledge in mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics. Flexibility may be required for additional hours and night work during peak season from May to October.

The right person will also have a one team approach and the ability to deal with people through effective communication written and verbal. We will offer visa support for the right person.

A good understanding of and affinity with modern technology, computers and software applications is desired.

A driver's license is required; a forklift license is desirable.

The Role

As Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, you will:

· Have a flexible approach to early starts and weekend work to ensure operational requirements are met.

· Diagnose faults, service and perform mechanical repairs.

· Undertake maintenance and repairs, provide recommendations for efficiencies and improvement in operations.

· Provide guidance to team members and contractors about correct use of the machinery.

Skills & Experience

· Trade Qualifications:

o At least a relevant AQF Diploma or equivalent, OR 3 years employment experience as a Machinery Supervisor/Manager

· Good computer skills (MS Office, production systems)

· Good literacy and numeracy skills for record keeping.

· Mechanical aptitude

· Clear communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills

· Previous experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.

· A driver's license is required, a forklift license is desirable

· Able to get along with people of all levels of the organisation.
