Network Administrator Intern

Job Description

As a Network Administrator Intern at Nexols, you will have the chance to assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our clients' network systems. This internship offers practical exposure to various network technologies, cybersecurity practices, and IT infrastructure management, providing a solid foundation for a career in network administration.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in configuring and maintaining network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance, identifying and resolving connectivity issues and optimizing network resources.
• Work with the IT team to plan and implement network upgrades, expansions, and improvements.
• Collaborate on network security measures, ensuring the implementation of best practices and policies.
• Participate in network troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist in managing network documentation, including network diagrams and asset inventory.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of network-related software and tools.
• Stay updated on emerging network technologies and industry trends.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
• Familiarity with network devices and protocols, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude in exploring network administration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the IT team and clients.
• Previous experience or coursework related to networking is a plus but not mandatory.
