The Night Receptionist is responsible for delivering consistent and professional Front Office service during overnight hours, supporting night operations, and ensuring guest safety, security, and satisfaction. This role supports the Night Manager by completing Front Office duties, night audit procedures, breakfast preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and brand standards across Front Office and lobby areas.
This position supports the operation of Home2 Suites Dublin, the first Home2 Suites hotel in Western Europe.

Key Responsibilities
Front Office & Guest Services
- Provide a professional, courteous, and efficient welcome to guests arriving during overnight hours.
- Complete check-in and check-out procedures accurately and in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Handle guest enquiries, requests, and basic service recovery issues professionally, escalating where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate guest records, ensuring correct registration and system updates.
- Process payments and ensure compliance with cash handling, billing, and credit procedures.
- Take and confirm reservations, ensuring all information is recorded accurately.
- Maintain responsibility for key control procedures in line with hotel security policies.
Night Audit & Administrative Duties
- Complete night audit procedures accurately and within required timelines.
- Generate, review, and distribute required reports in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Ensure accurate posting of charges and reconciliation of accounts.
- Maintain organised and up-to-date records of guest transactions and registrations.
Breakfast Set-Up & Public Area Preparation
- Assist with breakfast set-up in accordance with hotel standards to ensure readiness for morning service.
- Ensure breakfast areas are clean, organised, and correctly prepared prior to handover to the morning team.
- Support a smooth transition between night and morning operations.
Brand Standards, Cleanliness & Presentation
- Ensure the Front Desk and lobby areas are cleaned, organised, and presented to Hilton and Home2 Suites brand standards during overnight hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of Front Office and public areas to ensure a professional appearance for the start of the business day.
- Adhere to departmental SOPs and service protocols at all times.
Operations & Coordination
- Communicate room status changes and guest information effectively with Housekeeping and relevant departments.
- Liaise with Maintenance and Security to report and follow up on overnight issues.
- Assist with deliveries and basic stock organisation when required.
- Support effective handover of information to the Night Manager and day team.
Health, Safety & Security
- Carry out overnight security checks, fire walks, and safety procedures in line with hotel policy.
- Monitor access to the hotel and maintain vigilance regarding guest and staff safety.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations in accordance with hotel training and procedures.
- Report all accidents, incidents, hazards, and suspicious activity promptly and accurately.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety, hygiene, security, and HACCP requirements.
Teamwork & Development
- Work cooperatively with the Night Manager and night team to ensure operational continuity.
- Participate in required training and development programmes.
- Demonstrate flexibility by undertaking additional duties as requested by management.
Flexibility
- Work overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays, in line with operational requirements.
