An exciting opportunity has opened for a Night Shift Manager to oversee the efficient overnight operation of a busy Hamilton depot supporting both New Zealand Couriers and Parceline.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced freight or logistics environment and enjoys leading a team focused on safety, efficiency and service excellence.

About the Role

As Night Shift Manager, you will take ownership of the depot’s overnight operations, ensuring freight is processed accurately and presented to courier contractors on time for daily deliveries. You’ll lead supervisors and team leaders, coordinate staffing and resources and ensure operational processes run smoothly across inbound and outbound freight flows.

Flexibility in night shift hours – you will have the ability to adapt start and finish times to support operational demands and ensure the depot runs smoothly across the overnight cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all inbound and outbound freight is scanned, sorted and processed accurately
• Oversee loading and unloading of trucks and containers
• Manage staff productivity, absenteeism and training requirements
• Resolve operational issues in real time to maintain network flow
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with the wider logistics network and provide clear shift handovers

About You

You’re an experienced people leader who thrives in fast-paced operational environments and knows how to keep teams focused, organised and performing at their best. While experience in logistics or warehousing is beneficial, we’re equally open to leaders from other industries where strong coordination, team leadership and operational oversight are key.

Above all, you take a proactive approach to your work, adapt easily to changing demands and maintain a strong commitment to health and safety.
