Non Sterile Compounding Technician

The Compounding Technician is responsible for lab functions that may include formula and compounding record preparation, and compounding and labeling a variety of non-sterile compounded medications. All duties are performed efficiently and accurately under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Compounding Lab Technician demonstrates a commitment to the mission of the Pharmacy and goals of Belmar Pharma.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable pharmacy rules and regulations
• Follow all policies and procedures set forth by Belmar Pharma
• Strong comprehension of USP 795
• Have a strong working knowledge of pharmacy software.
• Enter new compounds into dispensing pharmacy software
• Prioritize and prepare formula and compound records
• Compound medications accurately and efficiently
• File necessary paperwork
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties
• Provide excellent service to internal customers on the phone and in person
• Assist in initial and continuous training of staff
• Pull outdated medications for destruction
• Restock supplies and keep pharmacy neat and orderly
• Maintain compliance with Company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned including, but not limited to: Perform inventories and ordering, assist in finding, stopping, expediting specific orders, project work
