Office Manager / Bookkeeper

<Overview>
We are a small, established professional engineering firm located in the Blackstone District in midtown Omaha. We are seeking a full-time, in-house Office Manager / Bookkeeper to oversee daily office operations and internal accounting support.

This is a hands-on role for a dependable professional who is comfortable working independently in a small office environment. Prior experience in office management and bookkeeping is strongly preferred. Firm-specific systems are trainable.

<Duties>

  • Office Management
  • Serve as first point of contact for clients, visitors, and incoming calls
  • Manage daily office operations, supplies, and vendor coordination
  • Maintain a professional, organized office environment
  • Handle mail, filing, and general administrative support

Bookkeeping & Accounting Support

  • Perform routine bookkeeping using Sage 300
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Reconcile company credit card activity
  • Assist with basic tax and compliance reporting

Payroll, HR & Facilities Support

  • Monitor employee time entry and coordinate payroll inputs.
  • Support employee onboarding, benefits administration, and personnel records
  • Coordinate office maintenance, repairs, and service vendors

<Requirements>

  • Prior experience in office management, bookkeeping, payroll support, or similar roles
  • Familiarity with accounting or payroll systems (Sage 300 experience a plus)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and personnel information
  • Comfortable working independently in a small office environment
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette.
