We are expanding our Ottawa Field Services division to support growing demand for hands-on technical assistance for our partners.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and customer-focused On-Site IT Field Technician to act as remote hands support for our clients in the Ottawa region. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, travelling to client sites, and working closely with senior engineers and NOC/SOC teams.

As an extension of our clients’ IT operations, you will perform hardware swaps, workstation and network installations, troubleshooting, cabling tasks, and in-person support activities following detailed instructions provided by remote engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Onsite Field Support

• Perform rack/stack, installation, and decommissioning of IT infrastructure
• Execute hands-on tasks for servers, switches, routers, APs, and firewalls
• Conduct hardware replacement: SSD/HDD, RAM, NICs, PSUs, peripherals
• Physically trace and validate cabling, label equipment, update inventory
• Support workstation setups, office moves, and equipment deployments
• Assist remote NOC/SOC teams via phone or video during troubleshooting
• Run basic software installs, printer setups, and user workstation tasks

Technical Execution

• Follow work instructions accurately and document results
• Perform physical reboots, cabling changes, device validations
• Use standard testing tools (cable testers, network tools, etc.)
• Capture photographic evidence of tasks completed
• Maintain professionalism while representing Arcadion onsite

Client Interaction

• Provide clear communication and status updates
• Maintain strong customer service skills when onsite
• Uphold Arcadion’s standards for security, confidentiality, and quality

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on IT field technician or related technical role
• Strong understanding of PCs, servers, networking equipment, and cabling
• Comfort working inside server rooms, datacenters, or office environments
• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions from remote engineers
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and replacements
• Familiarity with switches, firewalls, APs, and basic networking (L1/L2)
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Must reside within the Ottawa and or Gatineau region

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Basic understanding of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, or Windows Server
• Exposure to cybersecurity principles or MSP environments
• Experience with Aruba, HPE, Dell, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Cisco, or Synology
• Knowledge of ITIL practices
• Bilingual (English/French) an asset

Compensation

• $25–$30/hour (based on experience)
• After-hours & emergency premium rates
• Paid mileage, parking, and travel time when applicable
• Use of work vehicle also available
