Operations Change Project Manager (12-Month Ftc)

Who we’re looking for

  • The individual will be expected to work on a range of program management activities in Operations domain. The role requires the individual to adapt to changing business priorities and as such it is anticipated the candidate will need to perform a variety of project related roles focusing on coordination of teams, programme/project/dependency management and display budgetary control. The role is required to help coordinate change activities across global Technology, Business teams and external service providers.
  • The candidate will be a strong communicator, apt at managing different stakeholders proactively collating and documenting information using Schroders standard artefacts and improving the change management effectiveness. The candidate must demonstrate ability to deal with emerging risks and issues.
  • The person will be able to work on their own initiative and be quick to identify issues and dependencies that might affect the successful delivery of team’s objectives.
  • The individual will have good organisational and negotiation skills and will be expected to focus on the commercial viability of the change initiatives he/she will be working on in order to demonstrate value to the Schroders business

The team
The APAC Operations Change team works closely with our businesses, other change functions and technology to drive strategic change and new business enablement.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for shaping and planning the delivery of activities relating to key components of the initiatives
  • Adherence to change management directives, including ways of working
  • Working with internal implementation teams, particularly Client Group, Investment, Operations and Change Management to achieve program initiatives and deliveries
  • Working with external service providers to establish a joint program organization structure and framework for effective program governance and monitoring
  • Capture and document emerging risks and issues relating to the change management function
  • Support the programme throughout the delivery cycle – change request process, team meetings, reviews, information sharing
  • Managing the concurrency of activities while adhering to business priorities
  • Managing key senior stakeholders across the business
  • Managing the programme team including Project Managers and Business Analysts
  • Manage and balance the global alignment and APAC specific regulatory and client demands
  • Control of budget associated with programme responsibilities including internal and external spend, tracking of forecast spend vs actual plus a profit and loss view of the spend profile
  • Be involved in sharing the APAC Operations architecture, location strategy and target operating model
  • Act as the APAC representative for Change in global design and governance forums

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Track record of successfully delivering large scale transformational and complex programs across multiple departments or functional domains
  • Possess strong Operations domain knowledge and preference will be given to candidates with Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, and Investment Operations experiences
  • Good program and/or project management skills using a recognized methodology

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

  • Understand the Asset Management industry and market practice in Asia
  • Experience in ETFs, Wealth or Private Assets in APAC market would be advantageous
  • Prior working experience of successful project implementation working with external service providers
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite of applications and be able to present information for the desired outcome
  • Proficient in speaking and written Chinese would also be beneficial
