We are looking for a skilled Painter to paint in the aerospace industries. Under general direction, working with production control and QC to properly process all parts per customer engineering while maintaining overall traceability. Also working with customers internally on a day-to-day basis to coordinate the movement of details and finished parts through the department. They must be reliable and deft as well as possess great attention to detail in completing their duties. The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work.
Responsibilities
- Sprays surfaces of manufactured products with protective or decorative material with various types of paint
- Applies paint per specifications and technical data sheets
- Cleans grease and dirt from product
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired finish per technical data sheet
- Maintains paint booth cleanliness to eliminate FOD through preventive maintenance, 5S practice, and good general housekeeping habits
- Assist in training of lower experienced painters
- Adheres to production schedule
- Looks for innovative ways to improve first pass yield and production throughput
- Responds promptly to customer needs
- Writes clearly and informatively
- Contributes to building a positive team spirit
- Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills
- Monitors own work to ensure quality
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, an other employees of the organization
- Take and adhere to all health and safety rules as dictated in the employee manual
As an employee of PPC you will be required to contribute to our Quality Management System by following the procedures and work instructions that it contains. You will also contribute by being proactive utilizing a "Risk Based Thinking" mindset to promote a Continuous Improvement environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1-2 years previous work experience. 1 year or OJT may be considered
- GED or high school diploma; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Nadcap and AS9100 experience preferred
Continuous training requirements:
- Annual review of customer specifications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
