Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive, fast-learning legal professional who thrives in a dynamic, rapid-paced environment. This role requires the ability to quickly shift priorities, absorb new information, and tackle tasks with urgency and precision. As part of our in-house legal team, you will support a wide range of practice areas across multiple jurisdictions nationwide, including real estate, corporate, litigation, foreclosure, and employment matters. Experience drafting loan documents, managing litigation calendars and deadlines, and preparing foundational pleadings is strongly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drafting and reviewing loan documents, including those prepared for commercial closings and modifications.
  • Perform preliminary contract review and analysis.
  • Assist with the management and coordination of litigation cases involving mortgage servicing, foreclosure, and default.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and other legal paperwork.
  • Manage case calendars and deadlines, ensuring all filings and responses are completed on time.
  • Review and organize legal documents and evidence in preparation for discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and settlement discussions.
  • Conduct legal research on mortgage and foreclosure laws, mortgage compliance, industry regulations, and case law.
  • Prepare and maintain case files, discovery documents, and other litigation materials.
  • Handle document production and details needed for discovery responses, including review and organization of large volumes of documents.
  • Communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with internal departments, external attorneys, and other parties.
  • Assist with risk management and compliance matters as they relate to pending litigation.
  • Provide general legal administrative support to the legal team as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in mortgage, corporate, or real estate related practice areas, including construction defect litigation or foreclosure.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in law or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of real estate, foreclosure procedures, and related legal matters.
  • Understanding of mortgage regulations and experience with researching guidelines and rules
  • Ability to navigate public records across the country, PACER, and loan processing software to pull documents

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong research, professional writing, and articulate communication skills.
  • Self motivation, critical thinking abilities, and high organization.
  • Ability to shift gears, respond quick, and have a good attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
