Zr Academy of Education is looking for motivated, reliable, and academically strong teachers to join our growing team. We provide expert grinds from our Dublin 2 centre, with live online lessons available nationwide.

Our teaching focuses on clear explanations, exam technique, structured practice, and helping students build confidence in their subjects.

Subjects We Are Interested In

Maths, Applied Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accounting, Economics, English, Irish, History, Chinese/Mandarin, and Junior Cycle Science.

We welcome applications from qualified teachers, graduates, postgraduate students, and excellent undergraduate students with strong academic performance and teaching ability.

Working hours: Work in evenings, weekends and college holidays. It's a hourly-paid, part-time teaching role, with payment based on hours worked and no fixed or guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities

As a Post-Primary Grinds Teacher, you will be expected to:

• Deliver high-quality lessons for Leaving Certificate and/or Junior Cycle students.
• Prepare structured lesson plans and teaching materials in advance.
• Explain difficult concepts clearly and patiently.
• Help students improve exam technique, subject understanding, timing, and confidence.
• Use past papers, marking schemes, and exam-focused practice where appropriate.
• Adapt your teaching to suit different student levels and learning styles.
• Provide feedback to students and support their academic progress.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment.
• Communicate clearly with the academic/admin team when required.
• Accept feedback and continue improving your teaching quality.

Requirements

Graduates or Postgraduate Students

• Hold, or be studying towards, a Level 8 Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant subject area.
• Strong subject knowledge in one or more Leaving Certificate or Junior Cycle subjects.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Responsible, organised, punctual, and professional.

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate applicants are welcome if they can show strong academic ability and teaching potential. They should normally have:

• Achieved 625 marks with an H1 in the relevant Leaving Certificate subject, or equivalent strong academic evidence.
• Excellent understanding of the subject and exam requirements.
• Strong ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Good interpretation and communication skills.
• Confidence in helping younger students learn effectively.
• A mature, responsible, and professional attitude.

Preferred Qualities

• Strong at breaking complex topics into simple explanations.
• Patient, friendly, and encouraging with students.
• Comfortable teaching small groups or one-to-one lessons.
• Familiar with the Irish Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle system.
• Able to prepare exam-focused notes, worksheets, or practice questions.
• Reliable and committed to maintaining high teaching standards.

Zr Academy of Education was founded in Dublin in 2019 and provides Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle grinds. We focus on structured, engaging, and exam-focused teaching, helping students improve their confidence, subject knowledge, and academic results.

Our Dublin centre is located at 97 Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2, D02 CK72. We also provide live online lessons for students nationwide.
