Payroll Clerk/Hr Assistant

Cascade Eye & Skin Centers, P.C is seeking an energetic, friendly, detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our great team. Monday- Friday, great benefits!!

We are a combined medical practice of ophthalmology, dermatology and plastic surgery employing board certified physicians and surgeons, physician assistants and optometrists. We provide general eye and skin care as well as comprehensive subspecialty services including LASIK (laser vision correction), cataract surgery with intraocular lenses, glaucoma surgery, medical and surgical treatment of the retina, PRK laser eye surgery, medical and cosmetic dermatology, MOHS skin cancer surgery, skin pathology services, and a full realm of plastic surgery procedures.

Responsibilities:

The HR assistant is responsible for processing payroll on a Semi-monthly basis, as well as maintaining employee payroll files. In addition, this position will require you to assist the Human Resources manager with miscellaneous duties.

As an HR Assistant your job duties would be as followed:

· Enter, correct, verify, and transmit payroll information in the ADP Workforce Now® (300+ employees)

· Process stop-payments, direct deposit reversals, and voids as needed.

· Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies.

· Run Semi-monthly payroll for 300+ employees.

· Respond to employee questions within a 24-hour period to resolve employee paycheck issues.

· Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and perform payroll, time and accrual audits as requested by management.

· Assess payroll challenges and make recommendations for more efficient process improvements.

· Conduct new employee orientations; Ensuring all new hire paperwork is complete along with required HIPAA/OSHA testing.

· Planning, implementing, and overseeing HIPAA and OSHA requirements.

· Review new hire files, direct deposit set-ups, federal/state W-4 changes, status changes, rate changes, terminations, and other various payroll changes.

· Enter employee information into the payroll database and maintain employee files.

· Assist and ensure employees enroll on time with benefits.

· Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Company Policies as well as local, state, and federal collections laws and regulations.

· Miscellaneous duties as assigned not limited to payroll.

· Manage workflow to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of new hires, transfers, terminations, and all payroll transactions.

· Understands proper taxation, time-off accrual plans and employer paid benefits.

· Keep up to date on State and Federal payroll and tax legislation.

· Data entry and file maintenance to include employee on-boarding, changes and terminations.

· Knowledge of wage and hour laws.

· Submit proper paperwork to register employees with the DOH.

· Filing documents.

· Maintain up to date employee roster and OIG report.

· Effective communicator with individuals at all levels of an organization.

· Professional appearance and demeanor

· Exceptional time management skills.

· Recognize confidential information and maintain it in accordance with standard procedures.

Qualifications

· At least 2 years’ experience in Human Resources and Payroll

· Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Familiarity with COBRA, FMLA, Workers Compensation and related state and federal regulations required.
