About The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join our Brisbane office. The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation in compliance with company policies and legislative requirements. This role supports payroll systems management, process improvements, and provides guidance to payroll staff. The Payroll Manager collaborates with HR, Finance, and other departments to maintain seamless payroll operations and deliver exceptional service to employees.
What You’ll Do
As well as providing a high standard of quality transactional payroll services, key responsibilities will include:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Verify payroll data including time and attendance records, allowances, deductions, and leave entitlements.
- Ensure payroll activities comply with relevant legislation, tax requirements, and superannuation obligations.
- Prepare and submit statutory reports including Single Touch Payroll (STP), payroll tax, Coal LSL, ABS and other regulatory filings.
- Support the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of payroll systems (SAP ECP, UKG).
- Collaborate with IT and HR teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll systems with HRIS and finance platforms.
- Provide guidance and support to payroll staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience Payroll Manager within a large organisation
- Experience with payroll systems such as SAP ECP and UKG preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, colleagues and external stakeholders
- Ability to identify process improvements and drive improvements across the payroll function
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
- Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.)
- Mining Industry knowledge would be advantageous
