Milestones Family Recovery is seeking a compassionate, recovery-oriented Peer Support Specialist/Case Manager to support women and mothers in our residential substance use disorder treatment program. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping individuals build recovery capital, overcome barriers, and achieve their personal goals through trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Position Summary

The Peer Support Specialist/Case Manager provides recovery support, resource coordination, advocacy, and case management services to women participating in residential/ outpatient treatment. This role combines lived experience, peer support principles, and practical assistance to help clients navigate treatment, recovery, parenting, housing, employment, healthcare, and community resources.

Essential Duties

  • Provide peer support that promotes hope, empowerment, and self-determination.
  • Assist clients in developing and achieving individualized recovery goals.
  • Coordinate referrals and community resources, including housing, healthcare, employment, education, and recovery supports.
  • Help clients access benefits and community services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with counselors, medical providers, family advocates, and treatment staff.
  • Facilitate recovery-focused groups and activities as assigned.
  • Support clients in developing life skills, healthy coping strategies, and relapse prevention plans.
  • Advocate for clients while promoting personal responsibility and accountability.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work effectively with women in recovery.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and recovery supports.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Preferred:

  • Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, peer support, or case management.
  • Experience working with women, parents, and families.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
