About the Role
We are seeking a Philanthropy Specialist to join our Philanthropy Team at Swinburne University. This dynamic team led by the Associate Director of Philanthropy, is part of the larger Advancement team.
Under the guidance of the Senior Philanthropy Manager, Trusts and Foundations, , you will identify, develop, and prepare structured giving proposals for both flagship and researcher identified projects. You will play a pivotal role in the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of a portfolio of philanthropic prospects and donors, including representatives from philanthropic entities such as Trusts and Foundations, and Private Ancillary Funds.
As a vital member of a dedicated team of stakeholder relationship managers and fundraisers, you will proactively work to develop, secure, and steward strategic philanthropic relationships in close collaboration with schools, centres, and researchers. Additionally, you will support the delivery of the Philanthropy team’s programs, events, and other fundraising strategies and initiatives.
A mature, strategic approach to work, an entrepreneurial and creative mindset, attention to detail and sophisticated communication skills are essential to success in this role.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, business or organisational administration or development, including knowledge or awareness of appropriate fundraising concepts, models, methods, and practices
- Genuine interest in people, relationship development and customer service orientation
- Appreciation for the importance of education and research in society
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to proofread documents accurately and in a timely manner to generate correspondence and reports

Completion of relevant qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, experience, or education/training
