Job Type: Full-Time

Hours of working:

• Postal Operatives have a Monday to Saturday, 24-hour Attendance liability.
• The number of hours per week to be worked in normal circumstances is 37.5 hours.
• Your shifts will be scheduled week to week and may involve split shifts, early morning duties, or night assignments.
• You will be required to give extra attendance on weekdays or during weekends as the Company may reasonably require from time to time.

Job Description / Information:

As we are experiencing a period of exceptional growth, we are currently seeking reliable and motivated Postal Operatives to join our delivery and collection team. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the efficient collecting, sorting, loading and delivering of mails and parcels.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively both within a team and independently. Given the nature of the role, working conditions include both indoor and outdoor environments with a significant element of manual handling and driving required.

A full valid EU Manual driver’s licence is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect mails and parcels from designated Post boxes, post offices and customers.
• Sort and process incoming mail and parcels, ensuring all items are accurately assigned to the correct locations.
• Deliver mail, parcels, and packages to designated addresses, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional delivery.
• Follow designated delivery routes, maintaining safe, efficient, and consistent delivery practices.
• Protect and safeguard all mail and parcels during processing, transport, and delivery, preventing loss, damage, or tampering.
• Operate delivery vehicles safely and responsibly, while consistently complying with all health and safety standards.
• Use handheld tracking devices to record collections, deliveries, capture proof of delivery, and maintain accurate operational records.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient mail operations and maintain a high level of customer service.
• Maintain confidentiality and trust, ensuring all customer mail is handled with respect, discretion, and professionalism.
• Ensure full compliance with An Post operational policies, data protection requirements, and all relevant regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate An Post behaviours at all times; include everyone, show respect, work together to wow our customers, and seek out opportunities to improve how we work.

Key Requirements:

• Physically fit and able to handle parcels of varying weights.
• Full Valid EU Manual driving licence required.
• Basic English skills sufficient to read and follow written procedures, understand instructions, and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
• Self-motivated – can work independently.
• Previous experience in a postal or delivery role is desirable but not essential.
