Pricing Actuary - International Property
Paris, France
In this role you will be part of the Europe & APAC Property Pricing & Analytics team, supporting the International Property Business Unit in all pricing-related topics. The role is based in Paris where other members of Property Pricing team are located, along with the Underwriting Business Leader, however the business is written in offices across Continental Europe and Asia-Pacific.
You will report to Head of Europe, APAC & UK Property Pricing.
What you’ll be doing
- Participate in the development, testing, deployment and maintenance of pricing models
- Perform Profitability Analyses as needed to provide business guidance to Underwriting
- Assist Underwriters when required for technical premiums and for rate change estimation on individual insureds, including queries on pricing model outputs on individual insureds
- Provide training and education to Underwriters for the understanding and proper usage of pricing models and methodologies
- Lead the monthly rate monitoring process to provide monthly actuarial metrics to Underwriting and Actuarial management and assure accuracy and credibility of the monitoring process and report
- Contribute to the design and, where necessary the production, of management information to assist underwriters and the management team
- Assist Actuarial leads with producing recommendations for loss ratios as part of the business and strategic planning exercises
- Liaise with colleagues in pricing teams across Global Property on related topics, to leverage capability, insights and ensure consistency in approach.
- Support Actuarial leads in analysis for Capital Model parameterization, including development of underwriting risk assumptions, review of technical provisions and understanding capital model output
- Provide actuarial support for regulatory needs
- Leverage other AXA XL capabilities, e.g. Geospatial Underwriting, Risk Consulting, Natural Perils & Science teams, Insurance Data & Analytics.
What you’ll bring

- Experience in non-life insurance pricing.
- Ability for teamwork and to collaborate across teams that are not necessarily co-located
- Effective analytical skills
- Adaptability and versatility for innovative problem solving
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Outstanding verbal communications skills to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external clients.
- Excellent written communication skills
- R programming skills; proficiency with Excel
- Fluency in English, as English is the business language, and the role is part of a Global function. French would be a significant advantage due to location.
