Your responsibilities will include
Reporting to the project lead, overseeing all special airport systems works across this major project. This position is responsible for overseeing the construction and coordination of the Special Airport Systems Works carried out by the Main Contractor and subcontractors on the project in compliance to the contract requirements.
- Performing comprehensive design review function to ensure quality design and best practices are implemented in accordance to the Contract requirements.
- Attending to contractor’s RFI, technical and design queries and coordinate responses.
- Reviewing mock-ups, contractor’s submittals, method statements and shop drawings. Manage and coordinating design changes on site and ensure that approved design is followed through
- Providing project and construction management of the contractors and consultants, working to deliver this project by coordinating and jointly monitoring the works together with other SJ project staff, PM/CM, design consultants and contractors on site. Overseeing the delivery strategy and managing the contractors design, procurement and execution of the works.
- Oversee the contractors site planning, logistics and procedures for the efficient execution of the works including instigating the contractors work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site by liaising, coordinating and monitoring the activities of the contractor’s PM/CM, design, and consultants etc.
- Oversee and manage the contractor’s engineers and Inspectors to ensure proper quality control and that the work performed complies with all requirements of the contract documents, drawings and specifications.
- Inspecting permanent works executed by the contractor on site and detailing any deficiencies/non-conformance and necessary corrective actions to ensure quality assurance and control procedures are enforced in the execution of all SAS related works in accordance to the contract requirements.
- Conducting daily site walk-through and inspection to identify anomalies and/or construction defects
- Ensuring contractors’ performance of remedial works raised on the non-compliance register and remedial actions are enforced on site and recorded in the site documentations for records.
- Establishing and maintaining good safety and security practices for the entire project in accordance with the safety program and all applicable safety codes and regulations by ensuring that the highest standards of environmental standards, health and safety are considered and enforced as a priority through all stages of the SAS works in the project.
- Facilitating project scope and goals and providing progress reporting on your area of work.
- Reviewing contractor’s payment applications and supporting the preparation of monthly payment requisition and jointly coordinate with the project SJ Cost Control team to assist and advise in the preparation and assessment of project progress updates to support their progress payment evaluations.
- Identifying areas of improvement throughout the project and making recommendations and supporting the project team on a day to day basis.
- Liaising and interface with various internal technical teams and external stakeholders to effectively manage the airport project by managing project budget, resource, and progress against the agreed scope of work.
- Actively troubleshoot, facilitate, advise and coordinate with the SJ team as well as all internal and external stakeholders the Interfacing and hook up and commissioning of all SAS works with the associated all Civil, ICT, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Management Systems, airside works etc are efficiently integrated.
- Attending factory acceptance tests and provide the review reports (when required).
- Managing and oversee the testing and commissioning during the project close out stage including securing warranties, guarantees, and acceptance of the work, contract vendor closeout and handover to airport operational readiness (ORAT) team for airport operation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Electrical, Engineering.
- Project Management certification or ability to obtain one is an advantage.
- 10+ years’ experience in Special Airport Systems.
- Airport design and construction experience is required.
Computer Skills
- Expert skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
Microsoft Project or Primavera is an advantage

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency and knowledge of AIRP0RT SAS works, building management systems and high-performance SAS design.
- Excellent Works Interfacing skills with SAS linked and associated works.
