Process Engineering Intern

Job Summary: The Kimray Internship Program offers students hands-on experience in a professional manufacturing environment. Interns work alongside industry experts, contribute to real projects, and develop technical and professional skills for future success. Essential Job Functions:

In addition to a summer project, there will be opportunities to do some of the following, based on project assignment:

  • Supports process engineering team in evaluating and documenting assembly processes and operations
  • Assists in identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Assist with CAD modeling, drawing updates, and document control.
  • Participate in product development and process improvement projects.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data related to performance testing or quality validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Manufacturing, Quality, and Production to resolve technical challenges.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and cause mapping exercises.
  • Observe and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Learn and apply Kimray's engineering standards, safety practices, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
  • Basic proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen

  • Currently pursuing a degree

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment - PPE required in specific areas
  • Office

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive use of hands
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
