Job Summary: The Kimray Internship Program offers students hands-on experience in a professional manufacturing environment. Interns work alongside industry experts, contribute to real projects, and develop technical and professional skills for future success. Essential Job Functions:
In addition to a summer project, there will be opportunities to do some of the following, based on project assignment:
- Support engineers in the design, testing, and improvement of mechanical components and systems.
- Assist with CAD modeling, drawing updates, and document control.
- Participate in product development and process improvement projects.
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to performance testing or quality validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Manufacturing, Quality, and Production to resolve technical challenges.
- Observe and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Learn and apply Kimray's engineering standards, safety practices, and continuous improvement principles.
- Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team member
- Participates in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals
- Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field)
- Basic proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment.
- Must pass background check and drug screen
