Major functions
The post holder provides support and assistance to the Education and Outreach arm of the Conservation and Science Department of WWF-Singapore on multiple projects, activities and tasks. The Education and Outreach team aims to bring conservation and sustainability education and awareness to various stakeholders in Singapore. The post holder will play a vital role in developing and supporting the successful execution of the #WeGotThis Programme via contribution to its content development, event logistics and management, building and maintaining the #WeGotThis youth alumni community, and creating strategic communications and designing collaterals for #WeGotThis social media and community channels. The post-holder works across the organisation – including but not limited to Operations, Procurement and Finance, Fundraising and Communications, Field and Science in developing and delivering high quality education and outreach programmes to educational institutions, corporations, and the public.

Major duties & responsibilities:

  • Development of education and outreach content on various sustainability issues such as Climate Change, Biodiversity, Circular Economy, Sustainable Finance, etc.
  • Propose and execute programmes for key target audience such as students, youths and community
  • Craft project proposals for new education and outreach programmes aligned with global and local strategies
  • Design, undertake and/or participate in citizen science projects and biodiversity monitoring for a varied target audience.
  • Produce effective social media collaterals and graphics, managing content and updates across social media channels for youth programmes
  • Monitor engagement levels and provide recommendations on content optimisation across social media channels
  • Collaborate with the team to develop engagement strategies and activities aimed at organically growing the youth alumni community on digital community platforms and in-person
  • Build relationships, engage and mediate discussions, and foster a sense of community among youth participants
  • Day-to-day execution and management of local projects e.g. Eco-Schools, WeGotThis, Outdoor outreach activities.
  • Conduct workshops, talks and organise outreach events.
  • Coordinate and attend updates with project partners, internal teams and colleagues from other WWF offices.
  • Identify, liaise, coordinate and manage external vendors.
  • Support report writing on progress and updates for partners and relevant stakeholders
  • Manage, track and ensure all partnership and donor commitments are met.
  • Support line manager with financial commitments and accounting for the programme.
  • Support projects – including conservation, fundraising and communications work – by performing fact-checking, using scientific evidence as required.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings and workshops with internal and external staff, partners, donors, government agencies and the public.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Hons/MSc degree in environmental or biological sciences or related fields.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of global sustainability, conservation and related topics.
  • Specific knowledge of local sustainability issues, terrestrial and marine life will be a plus.
  • Prior experience in conducting outreach activities such as organising workshops, talks, guided walks etc. preferred.
  • Ideally, one to two years of experience working in education, conservation, sustainability, natural resource management or related fields, however fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with key digital platforms (Telegram, FB, IG, LinkedIn, YouTube) and best practices
  • Proficient with design platforms such as Canva and Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Photoshop
  • Proven experience developing social media campaigns
  • Ideally First Aid, CPR, and AED certified.
  • Able to work on weekends when necessary (off in lieu provided)

  • Interest in working with schools, youth, volunteers and the wider community.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in youth engagement and conservation programmes
  • Be able to handle coordination of various stakeholders including vendors, service providers, public and volunteers.
  • Be able to communicate confidently and effectively with a variety of outreach. demographics such as students, educators, government officials, corporate staff and the general public.
  • Ideally, have experience in project management and collaborations with external partners.
