Project Manager Or Assistant Project Manager

We are hiring an Assistant Project Manager with a clear path to Project Manager. Whether you are an experienced APM ready to take on more ownership, or a PM early in your career looking for the right company to grow with — we want to hear from you.

Assistant Project Manager

Supporting project delivery under a senior PM. Learning estimating, contract management, scheduling, and client communication across active rural BC projects; or

Project Manager

Full ownership of project delivery from award through close-out. Leading subcontractors, managing budgets, and acting as the primary client representative.

About the role

Our projects are primarily located in rural and remote communities across British Columbia — from the Interior to the North and Coast. You will work closely with the site superintendent, subtrades, clients, and consultants to keep projects moving safely, on schedule, and within budget.

This is a hybrid office and field role. You will be expected to make periodic site visits to remote projects, understand what is happening on the ground, and build strong working relationships with field crews. A background in the trades or prior site experience is a meaningful asset.

Key responsibilities

• Support or lead project delivery from award through substantial completion and project close-out
• Assist with or independently manage project budgets, cost tracking, and monthly forecasting
• Prepare and manage subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and change orders
• Coordinate with site superintendents daily to monitor progress, resources, and schedule adherence
• Attend site visits and project meetings — including travel to rural and remote locations
• Prepare owner billing applications, progress claims, and supporting documentation
• Maintain project schedules and communicate look-ahead planning to site teams
• Review and process submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings in a timely manner
• Support or lead project close-out including deficiency management, as-builts, and warranty documentation
• Assist with or lead tender preparation, quantity takeoffs, and bid submissions

What you bring

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent field experience
• 2–7 years of construction industry experience (APM to PM range)
• Exposure to ICI, residential, or civil construction
• Valid BC driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites
• Gold Seal Certification (or working toward it) is an asset

Skills & attributes

• Solid understanding of construction documents, specifications, and contract administration
• Comfortable with project management and accounting software (e.g. SiteMax / Procore, QuickBooks, MS Office, MS Project)
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients, consultants, and crews
• Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-motivated — able to work independently when projects are remote
• Field-literate: you understand how stuff actually gets built

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $75,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
