Photronics Inc. is looking for a Purchasing Intern to help with the indirect material commodity and support the direct materials commodity managers for the company and demonstrate an ability to partner with our Global Internal Operations Team and our valued suppliers. This position has the opportunity to grow in the supply chain organization for the right individual.
Summary of Duties
Support the administration, contract, and purchase requisition negotiation for all indirect materials providing the lowest total cost of ownership. Also responsible for the coordination of materials requisitions, part number generation, and data support for the direct material commodities.
Responsibilities Include
Assist in negotiating indirect material agreements and actively participate in negotiations. Processing requisitions and placing purchase orders through both Oracle and IReq systems.
Maintain qualified vendor list/payment terms and establish new suppliers with Finance.
Create new part numbers in Oracle for all commodities. Update and support Pellicle & Compact PN equivalents by Customer within the Masktrac system. Working with Commodity managers to coordinate Supply Chain procedures and other documentation (i.e., ISO, Supplier Performance reports, Quality Incidents, MC% Site Data). Coordinating and storing CERA’s, verifying approval levels, and supporting documentation. Maintain a record of cost savings achieved in the global cost savings database.
Identify future cost reduction opportunities in accordance with corporate and departmental objectives.
Maintain compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
Provide appropriate reports and analysis as required.
Participate in other various corporate initiatives/special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications
Experience in Supply Chain principles and concepts, spend management tools, purchasing insight into buying and selling principles, negotiations, awareness of different contract types, financial and quantitative analytical skills, commodity management, supplier and performance measurement tools, exposure to sourcing process, and Lean Six Sigma. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment, accomplishing tasks with limited resources at a rapid pace. Assertive, results-oriented individual who has proven skills at working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to successfully balance both the tactical and strategic aspects of a corporate sourcing role. Demonstrated aptitude for coordinating multisite teams. Strong analytical and financial analysis skills. Technical background is a strong plus.
Must be computer proficient (MS Office). ERP/Oracle is a plus.

Required Education
Enrolled or Pursuing a 4-year degree program in Business Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field required or in the process of completing a relevant degree and with at least one year of the degree nearly completed. BA/APICS/NAPM certification a plus.
