Quality Assurance Manager

EPL Georgia is looking for an experience Quality Assurance Manager that will be responsible for leading the manufacturing quality initiatives and standards across the facility. This position will include addressing and resolving all product quality issues, driving the performance of the quality management team in the plant, setting strategic goals for their department and the business, forecasting and benchmarking, and aligning with management to establish quality objectives that mirror the organization’s strategic plan.

The manager will drive a KPI focused environment, change management, and leadership and development of the quality team. This role will provide strategic leadership within the plant by prioritizing and communicating customer needs, providing feedback on plant quality performance, and facilitating teamwork to assure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and effective. The Quality Manager leads, directs and mentors the facility’s quality team, which includes Quality Engineers and Technicians.

  • Strategic Goal Setting by developing and implementing quality policies that align with the organization's mission, vision, and core values.
  • Data-Driven Planning by utilizing performance data (rejections, customer complaints, supplier performance) to identify, prioritize, and initiate improvement projects.
  • Allocating resources to support quality initiatives, including technology and staff training.
  • Leading process improvement by analyzing, mapping, and re-engineering processes to remove waste, minimize variation, and improve efficiency.
  • Benchmarking & Forecasting: Anticipating future industry standards and conducting benchmarking to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Exhibiting cross-functional leadership by collaborating with other departments to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.

· Establishing specific quality objectives that mirror the organization's overarching strategic plan.

· Championing large-scale projects like ISO 9001 certification or implementing Lean Six Sigma frameworks to drive operational excellence.

· Stakeholder Influence: Participating in senior management reviews to influence business plans and key performance indicators (KPIs).

· Risk Mitigation: Developing long-term strategies for risk management and regulatory compliance to ensure business sustainability

  • Devising and executing quality assurance processes
  • Surveying and assessing the quality of products
  • Ensuring that products adhere to customer requirements and industry standards
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
  • Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards
  • Working according to deadlines for the delivery of products
  • Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct
  • Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards
  • Reviewing customer feedback to understand their expectations and demands regarding products and services.
  • Managing waste in production processes and finding ways to enhance efficiency.
  • Production planning for new products while emphasizing quality standards.
  • Assessing product or service quality through various stress tests to ensure they meet established standards.
  • Working closely with management teams, providing recommendations and solutions to address quality issues.
  • Reporting on product or service quality at every stage of production, highlighting areas of improvement.
  • Assessing and reviewing materials provided by suppliers to maintain overall quality standards.
  • Investigating the root causes of defects and propose solutions to resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Onboarding and training new quality control team members to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Staying up to date with new quality control techniques and methods to improve processes and outcomes continuously.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to manage time effectively including prioritizing commitments and deadlines while using time wisely and efficiently to optimize overall impact to short and long-term assignments
  • Ability to visualize processes and actions, then produce documentation that clearly and accurately presents the information.

  • · Ability to oversee the quality team by effectively communicating their responsibilities and ensure proper training plans are created and implemented.
  • · Ability to set clear targets and objectives that align with the company vision while allowing anyone in the business to comprehend.
  • · Ability to look ahead and predict and proactively adjust for changes in needs and requirements, while sharing their vision and motivation with team members to effectively work towards a common goal.
  • · Possess a passion for their role in the company and aspires to achieve high performance results
  • · Possess the experience and capabilities to break down a problem into a statement, causes and countermeasures for recurrence prevention.
  • · Possess capabilities to make informed decisions quickly and effectively. Also possess critical thinking capabilities to analyze situations thoroughly.
  • · Understands the value of thorough and detailed report documentation to realize the present condition and gaps that exist to close.
  • · Understands and embraces the value of continuous learning and growth. Actively seeks opportunities to grow in business acumen.
  • Experience:
  • · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or related field
  • · Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Automotive manufacturing
  • · Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management position
  • · Proven track record of large-scale project management

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year

  • Explain when a Significant Quality issue escaped to the downstream customer and how you handled and resolved to minimize the impact the end user.
  • Explain a critical Internal Quality issue that was caused by inspector not completing the proper checks resulting in significant scrap and rework of parts.
