Quality Controller

Job description

Our company distributes fruits and vegetables for retailers in Ireland, and for our employees, we give the chance to progress in their careers and grow with the company.

Begleys is currently looking for self-motivated professionals who are seeking job experience and a breeding ground for growth. This person will work as a Quality Controller in our warehouse, a very fast paced and multilingual environment. We are looking for candidates able to work flexible hours (including afternoon shifts, weekends etc.)

GOODS IN

· Checking goods in (temperature, quality, spec, traceability, count, weight etc.)

· Labelling all incoming pallets accordingly (pallet headers + Quality comment)

· Sending NCR’s to supplier on produce arrived with quality issues

· Sending NCR’s to Hauliers / Transport Manager on any temperature issues /damaged pallets etc.

· Filling in incoming records for all stock delivered

GOODS OUT

· Checking orders going out – quality, count/weight, info on the labels, shelf life, is product as per agreed spec, is packaging as per customer requirement etc.

· If any produce is different than spec, temperature, country of origin, case size etc. required management is to be informed immediately and action is taken.

· Double check labelling on both product and box end labels and make sure it

· corresponds with stock.

ADDITIONAL

Additional checks to be carried out:

· Cleaning verification

· Spot checks on basic hygiene

· Shelf life testing

Minimum requirements

· Fluency in the English language · Have excellent organisational skills and have the ability to prioritize

· Be numerate and IT literate, and be familiar with the following software packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc) · Have good interpersonal and communication skills · Be self-motivated and prepared to be flexible when the occasion demands

Profile

· Desirable understanding of safety, manual handling and contamination risks

· Fast learner

· It is an advantage if the candidate has prior knowledge/experience with Food safety Quality standards including BRC, Bord Bia, Organic Trust, IOFGA

· Flexible to work weekends and bank holidays

· To be eligible to work full-time in Ireland (Visa/Work Permit);

· Availability to work full-time is preferred (day, evening and weekend shifts)
