About Us

Encinitas Soccer League (a.k.a. Express Soccer Club) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Since 1977, we have served the communities of Encinitas, South Carlsbad and Cardiff by providing quality soccer programs for players ages 5 to 19 years old. Over 2,000 children participate in our program each year. Express SC is a US Youth Soccer approved club.

Overview

Recreational Program Coordinator works to improve the outreach within the local community to ensure that Express SC continues to be a viable, safe and enjoyable option for local youth soccer players to develop.This dynamic role requires a passion for youth development, strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and support a diverse team of volunteers & staff.

In collaboration with Club Directors, the Recreational Program Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management, growth and quality of the recreational soccer program. This person must be able to identify and prioritize areas of growth and improvement, and should be able to develop and implement the necessary strategies to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities

• Manage / Oversee Recreational Program & Administration.
• Form regular Fall season balanced teams (minimum 130 teams) and Winter World Cup teams.
• Recruit, assign and train volunteer coaches.
• Create and manage the game schedule for all Recreational programs (Fall regular season and Winter World Cup Jan/Feb).
• Create and manage practice schedule for all rec teams.
• Director of Encinitas Cup recreational tournament (Nov 21-22, 2026).
• Create and execute strong recruitment/pipeline to increase the number of rec players that tryout for competitive teams
• Work with Admin team on all player registrations, communications and processes, which includes utilizing the league’s registration platform to ensure accurate data tracking
• Coordinate with Director of Club Development to ensure recreational player camps and clinics (First Touch Camps, Futsal, etc) are well attended, and curriculum is developmentally strong
• Participate in annual budget planning. Ensure efficient allocation of resources while maintaining adherence to approved recreational program budget
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all coaches, and parents regarding league policies, schedules and general inquiries.
• Work with administrative staff when ordering & purchasing uniforms and equipment and managing inventory.

• Prepared to do weekly office hours (as needed), while working closely & harmoniously with current Express SC staff
• Ability to work effectively with children, parents, volunteers & community stakeholders.
• Has the capabilities to meet all deadlines
• Comes with ideas on how to strengthen & grow programs
• Has experience in sports management, program coordination, or a related field
• Can resolve conflicts & solve problems in a timely manner with maximum professionalism & efficiency
• Is available to be onsite at all rec games, and events
• Has experience coaching soccer at the recreational &/or competitive level
• Knowledge of soccer rules and is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive and fun recreational sports environment
• Has a firm grasp of how youth sports organizations must operate logistically

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
