About the role
As a Regulatory Compliance Intern, you’ll be part of the Regulatory Services Team within Retail Operations. This team supports Foodstuffs, its member stores, and suppliers to meet regulatory requirements and ensure products sold to customers are safe, suitable, and compliant. In this role, you’ll gain hands‑on experience working with food safety, supplier compliance, and regulatory standards, while supporting teams across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Supplier Compliance & Technical Support team with day‑to‑day activities related to supplier management and regulatory compliance.
- Help manage the Foodstuffs Supplier Compliance Management Programme, including supplier compliance packs, certification renewals, and maintaining information in internal systems.
- Assist with reviewing and updating technical standards and regulatory guidance used to support Foodstuffs and its suppliers.
- Review supplier compliance and performance data to help identify risks or trends and support follow‑up actions with suppliers and internal teams.
- Review product and labelling compliance for new or changing products, including seasonal and imported items.
- Assist with data management, reporting, and dashboard tools (such as Power BI and Excel) to support analysis and reporting.
About you
You’re currently studying towards, or have recently completed, a degree in food science or a related discipline. You’re curious, enjoy learning, and are interested in food safety, compliance, and how regulations protect customers. You communicate clearly, work well with others, and are comfortable managing multiple tasks at once. An interest in data, reporting tools like Excel or Power BI, and food regulatory frameworks is a bonus, but not essential.
