Are you passionate about supporting Fonterra to drive innovation and growth by enabling market access, ensuring compliance, managing emerging risks and helping to shape the global regulatory environment?
We have an exciting opportunity available in our Global Regulatory team for a 12-month role to cover parental leave.
This role will be a valuable part of Fonterra’s Global Regulatory team and need to integrate seamlessly into an existing team of global regulatory experts to enhance and drive Fonterra’s Global Regulatory strategy to deliver on Fonterra’s goals.
We’re specifically looking for a Regulatory expert with experience in:
- Developing global regulatory advocacy positions on complex topics that take into consideration the ever-changing global environment.
- Supporting global innovation & growth with regulatory advice and solutions that balance risks and opportunities. Managing regulatory knowledge centers, databases and systems to ensure the business has access to real time regulatory data & insights.
We are open to receiving applications from the following locations, due to our 3 days onsite requirement: Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington or Christchurch.
Your key responsibilities will be dependent on your expertise and may include:
- Simplifying complex global regulatory requirements ensuring clear and actionable outcomes for the business.
- Identifying relevant global food regulatory insights and trends, to support with strategic decision making.
- Representing Fonterra’s interests in industry and professional forums, and committees including preparing submissions, presentations and relevant positions,
- Lead regulatory workstreams within Global innovation NPD, NTD and marketing projects to enable global product launches. Integrating into business systems to identify opportunities and risks that maintain efficiency and ensure regulatory systems are appropriate and integrated.

We’re looking for a motivated professional who thrives on collaboration and is skilled at navigating complex information into simple and easy to understand information for the business.
Other skills and experience we value include:
- Tertiary education: Masters or Honors tertiary qualification in science, food technology, nutrition or law.
- An understanding of food regulations and how they apply to our business.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance diverse perspectives and drive strategic outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to build relationships across a wide range of stakeholders and cultures A proactive approach to addressing challenges and driving innovative solutions that balance opportunities and risks.
