Description:
About the role

We’re looking for a Rental Compliance Officer to join our National Rental Compliance team. In this detail-focused role, you’ll play a vital part in calculating rents and completing eligibility assessments that ensure residents are charged fairly and in line with legislation, program rules and policy.

Your work will directly support tenancy sustainability, regulatory compliance and positive resident experience. You’ll collaborate closely with Housing Services, Finance and external bodies such as Centrelink to deliver timely and accurate assessments.

We are open to candidates based in Melbourne, Burnie or Devonport.

You will:
Assess rent reviews and eligibility requirements accurately and within required timeframes
Apply state-based legislation, SDA rules, CH agreements and HCA policies
Complete income confirmation, rent calculations and issue notices to residents
Process NRAS eligibility requirements and incentive submissions
Maintain precise documentation to support compliance and audit requirements
Liaise with Housing Officers to support residents experiencing financial hardship
Investigate resident queries and support dispute resolution
Contribute to policy improvements, reporting and small projects

Skills and Experiences:
You will bring:
Experience in a compliance, housing, financial, community housing or tenancy role
Strong analytical and numeracy skills, with excellent attention to detail
Ability to interpret financial information and apply policy or legislation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy for vulnerable communities
Confidence managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with systems, databases or financial transactions

You must agree to undergo any required employment screening, including but not limited to a National Criminal History or Police Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable Persons Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
