The IgNITE Lab is an innovative, collaborative, and mission-driven research group dedicated to improving health equity. The lab is committed to improving the health and safety of the underserved through cutting-edge research, scientific thinking, and technological innovation. Using implementation science methods, the lab studies digital health, patient safety, and social media to improve health communication and clinical care.

The Research Data Analyst will be a detail-oriented, proactive, and flexible individual, with an interest in working collaboratively with a research team on a variety of projects and the ability to work effectively independently and with others. This individual will ensure that the lab’s activities run smoothly by providing research and administrative support to the PI and across programs.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating study activities across projects. Studies the Research Data Analyst may support include:
- A five-year multi-site study evaluating different strategies to support home blood pressure monitoring
- Conducting research operations such as:
- Assist with the recruitment materials and recruiting research participants
- Collecting data via surveys, focus groups, and interviews
- Submitting and maintaining institutional review board applications
- Conducting literature reviews and systematic reviews
- Cleaning, managing, and analyzing data
- Coordinating research team meetings, taking notes, managing project timelines, and ensuring follow-up of deliverables
- Preparing and submitting scientific manuscripts
- Developing scientific presentations in partnership with the PI
- Drafting and editing correspondence
- Actively updating the PI’s biosketch, curriculum vitae, and publication list
- When possible, develop policies and procedures to ensure that the lab’s operations, including its file and project management systems, collaboration tools, and dissemination activities run smoothly and efficiently.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $61,200 - $77,700 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Acquiring knowledge of research function. Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties.
- Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties.
- Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.
- Basic consultation and communication skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in alignment with lab’s priorities.
- Ability to work effectively independently and with others.
- Strong attention-to-detail.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and project management software.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of public health and/ or social science topics.
- Experience with UCSF systems such as iRIS, BearBuy, and MyExpense.
