Risk And Compliance Manager

What you’ll do:

Governance & Policy Management

• Support the development and implementation of corporate governance frameworks
• Consolidate, maintain, and regularly update company-wide Policies & Procedures
• Ensure consistent policy execution across departments and branch units
• Promote accountability structures and maker-checker controls

Compliance Oversight

• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards
• Coordinate compliance reviews and ensure timely closure of compliance gaps
• Provide compliance guidance to department heads and branch teams
• Support compliance reporting to senior management and the Board

Enterprise Risk Management

• Assist in identifying and monitoring key operational, financial, and regulatory risks
• Maintain risk register and track mitigation plans with departments
• Monitor corrective and preventive action plans for governance issues

Internal Control Monitoring

• Coordinate controls self-assessments and operational compliance checks
• Support governance improvements such as access controls, documentation, and process discipline
• Ensure controls are consistently applied across branches

Compliance Culture & Training

• Promote a strong compliance culture through awareness programs and staff training
• Support integration of compliance and governance measures into performance management tools (e.g. Sprout KRAs)
• Assist departments in implementing new policies and governance requirements

Reporting and Board Coordination

• Prepare governance, risk, and compliance updates for executive leadership and the Board
• Escalate significant compliance or governance issues appropriately
• Coordinate with regulators, external auditors, and consultants as needed

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Relevant certifications are an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in governance, compliance, risk management, or regulatory oversight
• Experience in financial services, lending or multi-branch operations is strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, compliance systems, and risk practices
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• High integrity, sound judgment, and ability to influence cross departments
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with senior leadership
• Willing to travel to branches
