About the Role

ART Transport Inc. is seeking a Safety & Compliance Manager to oversee DOT and FMCSA compliance for our asset-based trucking operation. This is a hands-on role focused on regulatory compliance, audit readiness, driver qualification, and fleet safety.

The position works closely with operations and maintenance to ensure safe, compliant day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee safety & compliance of 100+ truck fleet.
• Manage DOT and FMCSA compliance (HOS, ELD, DQ files, Drug & Alcohol, vehicle maintenance, inspections, Clearinghouse)
• Maintain audit-ready compliance files and support DOT audits and inspections
• Monitor CSA BASICs, inspections, violations, and accident trends
• Investigate accidents and safety incidents; ensure proper documentation and follow-up
• Coordinate driver onboarding, safety orientation, and ongoing training
• Partner with operations and maintenance on corrective actions
• Prepare and manage IFTA reporting, including mileage tracking and documentation
• Conduct internal compliance audits and reporting
• Stay current on regulatory changes and update policies as needed
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management as required

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of safety and compliance experience in asset-based trucking
• Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
• Experience with ELD systems and compliance documentation
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• DOT or safety certifications
• Experience supporting DOT audits
• Familiarity with telematics and CSA management
