Safety Specialist - Automotive Parts Manufacturer (Kid-34843)

An international automotive parts manufacturing company is actively seeking a Safety Specialist to join their facility near Madison, AL.

Responsibilities of Safety Specialist

• Maintain and communicate up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and company safety regulations and policies; ensure plant-wide compliance.
• Oversee injury review processes, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage all required safety training, safety orientations for new hires, inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Develop, present, and lead the annual Safety Plan in collaboration with local management.
• Track, analyze, and report operational safety performance metrics.
• Perform other duties as assigned to drive world-class safety practices

Qualifications of Safety Specialist

• 2-3 years of experience in safety management in the manufacturing setting
• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as state-level safety requirements
• Experience in automotive industry is a big plus
• High school or equivalent
• Strong leadership skills in team environment and skills to bring positive atmosphere to the team
• Ability to be flexible to work effectively with wide variety of people and to work responsibly and effectively in a multicultural environment
• Excellent communication (Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening) and presentation skills
• Ability to multi-task and perform duties time efficiently
• Team-worker, Detail-oriented, Responsible, Punctual, Self-motivated
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
