As a Sales Executive at Samskip, you will have the opportunity to work for one of Europe’s largest providers of multimodal transport. Samskip offers her customers a wide variety of solutions by sea, rail, river and road across a wide European geographical scope. We facilitate international trade by bringing thousands of products to the market varying from chemicals, paper, food, beer, wine to bricks to build homes, kitchens to prepare your meals in and furniture to decorate your homes with. There is never a dull moment in transport, let alone when you are selling it. You will not only need to gain an understanding of buying patterns, supply chains, customer behavior and seasonality in cargo flows, but also how our network operates, how this compares to competition and how market rates compare between different geographic regions.
You are skilled at creating connections and you easily adapt your communication style to your counterpart. You thrive in a high-paced business where every day can throw another challenge at you.
That is what you bring to the table:
0-5 years of experience in a similar sales position
Basic knowledge and understanding of the sales process and conversation techniques.
Strong pro-active attitude takes initiative and anticipates challenges to drive efficiency and success
Ability to identify potential customers and convert opportunities into tangible orders
Result- and solution-oriented.
Relationship builder and team player
Strong negotiation skills.
Professional and responsible with high ‘can-do’ attitude.
Fluent written and spoken Dutch and English (Any other language is a pre)
Independence in a team.
The position will be based in our Samskip Headquarter in Rotterdam. Close cooperation with the General Sales Manager Region West as well as other internal stakeholders will be pivotal to your success. This will be an exciting position in a solid, international company with continuous growth ambition in combination with a lot of independence and opportunities to develop yourself within your position and in our organization
You are always hunting for new opportunities at existing or new customers, transfer them into concrete business opportunities and onboard them into the Samskip organization. You are a strong connector and enjoy building long-term relationships with your customers and internal stakeholders like Trade, Customer Service, Operations and Finance.
You report directly to our General Sales Manager Region West based in Rotterdam and as such you are expected to provide updates on your portfolio, maintain and expand your current portfolio, build a strong pipeline with new business and make use of relevant sales tools such as CRM for sales administration. As our new Sales Executive, you also go the extra mile to:
• Identify and gain business opportunities to increase sales and profitability
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing or new customers in your portfolio which convert into actual business
• Exceeding your sales targets
• Build a strong and consistent pipeline with potential new business
• Report to the General Sales Manager Region West on a frequent basis with relevant updates on your portfolio
• Collaborate constructively with internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare sales offers, lead negotiations and record developments in CRM
• Participate actively in sales projects
Your primary focus will be to maintain, develop and expand your existing customer portfolio and perform customer visits. We expect our Sales Executive to have at least three customer meetings per Week. You will build relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders and meet frequently in person with your clients to maintain and strengthen the relationship. With your excellent interpersonal skills and thorough knowledge of our entire product and service offering you will succeed in bringing home new potential business.
